I just haven’t felt this ill since my diagnosis four years ago. The ibuprofen set me back when I was feeling a little better for a couple days. I also made the mistake of taking ibuprofen yesterday for pain in my shoulder. It’s about all I can stomach because I get nausea, diarrhea, dizzy and light headed, and chills when I go back to eating other foods. In the last couple weeks I’ve only been eating rice, drinking broth, drinking electrolytes, apple sauce, and a smoothie with banana and protein powder. I usually don’t get such severe autoimmune responses as I have this time, and I’m guessing it’s because I had this medical emergency just a few days before that had altered the strength of my immune system? Three days before I ate at this restaurant, I had an ovarian cyst rupture and bleeding into my belly. It’s been about twelve days since I was glutened at a restaurant. I really need some tips and support on how I can recover from a recent exposure. Distractions and diversions (I guess I put life on hold until I have "the answer"/know things 100% etc) I am so grateful for all your help, support and knowledge Knitty Kitty and will keep you posted for sure. It may be causing me to dump too much too? I will see how I go with the above changes first and maybe experiment. (starting to overthink again!!) I can add some higher oxalate foods if I feel dumping gets too much(chocolate!!)ĭairy exclusion is the one thing I am unable to reach peace with- I feel nourished and satisfied when I eat it(?). Perhaps reducing the oxalates in my diet provided the gradient needed from tissues to bloodstream for oxalates to now dump. I was focussing more on high oxalate diet being the issue but if I'm low in B1 and not taking enough, I'm still continuing to produce too many oxalates, and on a low dose supplement (the 200mg I've been taking) it may be enough to stop the oxalate production a little but not enough. It's as if you are stepping on the gas, then stepping on the brakes, then stepping on the gas, resulting in a very jerking journey. I already have zinc in my vast supplement cupboard! ![]() ![]() My supplement B complex only has 10mg B6 so I'll have to look into something that gives me more (the Life Extension one you linked above looks good) I'll increase the B1 thiamine HCL in the meantime. This is a real eye-opening fact:- Thinking and worrying causes the brain to use up as much thiamine as your muscles use in running a marathon.!!! I must have zero stores!! Yes,I overthink EVERYTHING!! Very coherent and logical, thoughtful and kind. Perhaps you might try the Strawberry Chex for your child if you want to offer a super-sweet cereal as a treat. I think I'd stick with the ones that are marked gluten-free. General Mills is getting pretty good about saying which of their products are truly gluten-free. There's nothing that I see in the Cookie Crisp ingredients which would be an absolute NO for all Celiacs (wheat starch theoretically shouldn't contain gluten if it's processed well enough, and many Celiacs tolerate oats) but I feel it would be really pushing my luck to try it. I don't see ingredients posted for the vanilla sprinkles flavor, but even if there's no wheat starch listed, there are probably oats (non-gluten-free) and I'm always suspicious of "natural flavors" in cereals or other sweets (although it's probably not an issue with General Mills products).
